Albuquerque, New Mexico - The one of a kind ARTIFEX Skatepark Environment opened Saturday, March 24th, 2007 with a full schedule of events.
The ARTIFEX skatepark design team in collaboration with local landscape architecture firm MRWM drew inspiration from Albuquerque?s famed arroyos as well as specific sites within the Albuquerque area that skateboarders enjoy most. Located in the Alamosa Center and split into two main areas, the Plaza-style Arroyo trenches and the vert-friendly Skylit Bowl, the park maximizes both - excellence in skateboarding performance as well as viewer enjoyment. ARTIFEX West Side Skatepark integrates landscaping, locally inspired color and viewing areas to enhance the experience for skaters and non-skaters alike. A destination in West Albuquerque, the West Side Skatepark will bring visitors to the area as well as serve the needs of locals, providing recreation, a community meeting place and a venue for special events.
