Mousetrap. Opened in October 2000, Topeka's first skate park provides area skateboarders, in-line skaters and bicyclers a state-of-the-art facility rivaling any skate park in the Midwest. It is an outdoor facility located in Oakland-Billard Park next to the Oakland Community Center, the Oakland Pool, and the Shunga Trail.

Eight separate features are available for youth and adults of all skill levels in this 10,000 square foot facility. No supervision is provided. Users are encouraged to use appropriate equipment. Double Pyramid
An adjoining large and small pyramid with coping along the edge of the large pyramid. A one foot box is affixed on top of the flat area.

Quarter Pipes
Three separate quarter pipes of varying elevations, used mainly for gaining speed and half pipe-like tricks.

Elevated multilevel trick box
A run-up to trick box with two ramps of varying degrees of slope. Part of the feature has slanted edges with coping along the edges and is used for various downhill slides.

Ground multilevel trick box
An adjoining large and small trick box with coping along the edges. The large trick box is 28 inches in height, the small trick box is 12 inches in height.

Kicker with grind bar
Double launch ramps with elevated flat rail down the center.

Land rail
A metal rail built with two elevations, 20 feet in length, and used for grinds and slides of various kinds.

Bank to bank
Two separate 4 foot high ramps built with a 36 inch foot gap separation.

Feature obstacle
A bowl with a 4.5 foot high winding teardrop. A run-up with a curved ledge platform on one end, and eight steps with center rail and straight ledge drop-off on the opposite end.

Future feature
The concrete pad is in lace for the future installation of a half-pipe on the south end of the skate park, when funding becomes available.
